I recently decided to start a blog. I’ve always wanted to share my journey through writing. This idea resurfaced recently when I realised, I needed a hobby outside my busy life. Ironically, it involves writing about that busy life and everything included in it. I know it might not make much sense, but here we are.

I am a Dutch woman who moved to Australia in 2017 to pursue my passion for working with dogs and animals, as well as seeking adventure. Many years later, I find myself being the owner of a small pet dog business that is constantly evolving together with my business partner.

I work as an explosive detection dog handler and specialise in training dogs for detection. Additionally, I train a sport dog on the side and continue to pursue my ever-growing knowledge for dog training. I strive to maintain my fitness and health, constantly seeking personal and professional growth while living a minimalistic life. On top of that, I love adventure and to travel.

As much as it seems like I have everything under control, nothing has ever come easy to me. Owning a business is hard. Living abroad is hard. Figuring out who you are and staying true to yourself is hard. It’s an ever-going journey of evolving into a better version of yourself and rediscovering who you want to be.

This blog is meant to inspire, that we women can do hard things. No matter where you come from, how you grew up, or which country you lived in, you can dream big.

I never would have imagined that I’d be living in Australia, but here I am. I also never thought I would own a business involving dogs, but here I am. And I never thought I would have traveled to the countries that I did, but here I am.

This shit is real. I also want to discuss the difficult aspects. It’s important to remain resilient and persistent and to not give up when things get tough. I’ve been in tough situations more than once, but here I am.

I want to share my stories and my journey with you, hoping that you can take something away from it. Everything in life is a choice, and we are never truly stuck.
